By operating systems
With targeting by operating system, you can choose to show your ads only to users of specific operating systems. By default, targeting is enabled for all operating systems.
To disable impressions for specific operating systems:
-
Go to Targeting → Add a targeting condition → By operating systems.
-
Set up a targeting criterion:
- Excluded major operating systems: Select major operating systems for which you want to disable impressions.
- Excluded mobile operating systems: Select mobile operating systems for which you want to disable impressions.
- Exclude undefined operating systems: Operating systems that can't be identified based on the User‑Agent. When this option is enabled, users with these operating systems won't see your ads.
Note
For some operating systems, you can configure targeting by version. The available options are listed in a drop-down menu one level below.
-
Click Apply and save the targeting criteria.
Warning
In the report builder, you can add dimensions and filters for operating systems or operating system versions to track their statistics.
Rare operating systems with a low traffic share are grouped into a separate category called Unknown. Operating systems that couldn't be identified are grouped into a separate category, Undefined.
During the transition to the new targeting tree, your ads maintain previously configured settings. The settings that the system considers rarely used or outdated are marked as deprecated. You can view and edit these values as long as they are being used in your campaigns. For information about your campaign's targeting settings, see the report builder sections for dimensions and filters.
