Yandex Advertising Network First Look is an additional option for partners that allows running an auction between a selected Guarantee campaign and the Yandex Advertising Network. To enable this option, fill out the form.

Yandex Advertising Network First Look can increase the publisher's revenue by granting the Yandex Advertising Network the right to buy impressions on par with Guarantee campaigns.

Benefits of Yandex Advertising Network First Look:

  • Increase the total monetization revenue.
  • Receive payments under the current agreement with the Yandex Advertising Network.
  • Ensure a high inventory fill rate.
  • Increase CPMV for ad placements.
  • Enable/disable Yandex Advertising Network First Look on your own and flexibly manage floor settings at the account and placement levels.

How to enable Yandex Advertising Network First Look

  1. Enable Yandex Advertising Network First Look at the desired level:

    1. Open the Monetization → Summary tab and activate the Enable impression option. Yandex Advertising Network First Look will be enabled on all your current and new placements with Yandex Advertising Network ad units.

    2. Select the Yandex Advertising Network First Look setup type:

      • Total per account: Your minimum CPMV floor will be the same for all placements.

      • At the placement level: Your minimum CPMV floor will be defined by the monetization settings of each placement.

    Go to the Sites → Section → Placement tab, open the Monetization settings of the desired placement, and activate the Enable impression option.

  2. Set the Minimum CPMV threshold.

    Alert

    If a CPMV is specified at the Guarantee campaign level, it will be used in the auction. Otherwise, the CPMV specified at the placement or account level will be used.

  3. Press Save.

How Yandex Advertising Network First Look works

  1. The system receives an ad request.

  2. The system selects a Guarantee campaign for impressions and chooses a CPMV for the Yandex Advertising Network First Look auction. The CPMV is taken from the highest priority level. Here are the levels in descending order of priority:

    • Campaign
    • Placement
    • Account

    If there's no CPMV set in the Guarantee campaign, it's taken from the account or placement level.

    Examples:

    • The CPMV of the campaign chosen for impressions is set at 300, and the Yandex Advertising Network First Look floor for the account is 150. The auction involving the Yandex Advertising Network will run with the campaign's CPMV, which is 300.

    • No CPMV is set at the campaign level, and the Yandex Advertising Network First Look floor for the account is 150. The auction involving the Yandex Advertising Network will run with the account's CPMV, which is 150.

    Alert

    If a Guarantee campaign with session impressions and the % of traffic rotation method is selected for impressions, the Yandex Advertising Network First Look auction does not take place.

    If a Guarantee campaign is not selected for impressions, the Dynamic monetization auction runs.

  3. Once the campaign is selected, the chosen CPMV and the CPMV of the Yandex Advertising Network ad unit are sent to the RTB auction:

    • If the Yandex Advertising Network's bid wins, its banner is sent to the site.
    • If the Yandex Advertising Network's bid loses, a Guarantee campaign selected at Step 2 is served.
